Chongqing, May 7 (Hu Zhiqiang, Gou Lingyue and Li Qiuxuan of Xinhua News Agency) - On the afternoon of April 28, a freight train carrying goods such as pure adipic acid and polyester slices departed slowly from the railway-dedicated line at Fuling Longtou Port in Chongqing, heading to Qinzhougang Railway Station in Guangxi via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The goods are destined for 11 countries including Singapore, Italy and Mexico. This signifies the normalization of the operation of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor container freight train on this railway-dedicated line, further promoting the rapid development of sea-rail intermodal freight trains on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
"Fuling Longtou Port is located at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Wu River in Fuling District, Chongqing. It is one of the '1+3' hub-type ports in Chongqing and a key project for Chongqing to integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and the national strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. As of April 27, this railway-dedicated line has sent 807 train cars carrying 50,065 tons of goods and received 579 train cars carrying 36,664 tons of goods, providing strong support for the production and living needs of the people," said the person in charge of Fuling Business Department of Chongqing Railway Logistics Center. To improve service quality, the center has developed "one-stop" guarantee solutions for customers in advance, providing comprehensive services through improving the overall operation capacity of the freight yard and optimizing loading and unloading processes to provide customers with better and more accurate logistics service experiences.
To ensure the smooth operation of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor container freight train, the Chongqing Railway Logistics Center of CR-Chengdu has strengthened communication and coordination with the Fuling Locomotive Depot, discussed in detail matters related to the entire process of loading, unloading, marshaling and transportation, and formulated detailed plans for the operation of the freight trains, providing support to customers in terms of price discounts, container allocation and high-quality services. At the same time, they have carefully formulated special reinforcement plans for loading, clarified the key points of operation for various systems such as driving, shunting, transportation, loading and unloading, strengthened coordination and cooperation among various trades and links, ensured the orderly connection of railway-dedicated line operations, and made freight transportation safer, more efficient and smoother, helping accelerate the release of the synergistic effects of "channels + trade + industries" in the southeastern part of Chongqing and promote the economic and social development of the Wuling Mountain region and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. Additionally, to further improve the efficiency of loading and unloading operations, the railway-dedicated line at Fuling Longtou Port in Chongqing has officially put into use gantry cranes. Compared with the previously used reach stackers, the gantry crane has the characteristics of high site utilization, large operating range, wide adaptability and strong versatility, enabling more efficient and convenient container loading and unloading operations and realizing all-weather combined transportation of railways, highways and waterways.
"The launch of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor container freight train at Fuling Longtou Port in Chongqing has saved us nearly half of the transit time and significantly reduced transportation costs. At the same time, we can also track the goods throughout the process through the 95306 App, checking the current location of the goods, the trajectory in transit, the estimated time of arrival, etc., to arrange the pickup time reasonably," said the person in charge of Chongqing Wankai New Materials Co., Ltd.
